Congressman Bachus accepts nomination applications from residents of the 6th District of Alabama who are interested in attending one of the nation's military academies. Congressman Bachus will make nominations to the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and must be at least 17 years old but not have passed their 23rd birthday by July 1 of the year of admission. They also can not be married, pregnant, nor have any legal obligation to support children or other dependants. They must reside within the 6th Congressional District of Alabama.
