As a father with a son who is a Marine Corps reservist subject to call-up at any moment, I am deeply concerned as events in Iraq unfold.  However, there are times when free people, honorable people, patriotic people, must take a stand in the name of principle and for the sake of humanity.
After decades of cruel repression, torture and murder of as many as one million people, the end for Saddam Hussein is near.  When he is gone, not only the Middle East, but all civilization can breathe easier.
I fully support our President, and the troops he is sending into harm's way and call on all Americans to join in that support.  Our way of life, our beliefs, and our standards of decency are worth fighting for and defending, now as in the past.
